HARD KNOCKS: 2011

June 2011 at Thunder-Sky, Inc.

Raymond Thunder-Sky was a prolific artist, and he spent a majority of his life perfecting his craft. He had a movie-star Indian chief for a father, and Austrian royalty for a mother. He was an ice-sculptor, honorary Shriner's clown, friend and ally to Cincinnati construction workers, and a mysterious toolbox-carrying icon. Raymond eventually had his work exhibited in galleries and museums across the country. Hell, he even has a gallery named after him.

What Raymond Thunder-Sky did not have before he passed away in 2004: a B.F.A., or an M.F.A., or a Ph.D. He did not go to art school.

So we figured we should curate an exhibit in the aforementioned gallery named after him about artists like Raymond who never got the chance, or maybe even chose not to, or dropped out of, art school.

If you are an artist who could not attend, chose not to attend, and/or dropped out of art school, send us some photos of your work via email. If you don't have photos of your work, call or email us and we will set up a time to touch base with you.
